Yesterday I sailed with a friend for a trip to Gouvia and had lunch and then back to Corfu to lie in the bay. When we got back I wanted to be close to land and near a really delicious sushi restaurant that we would eat at in the evening. I therefore sailed quite carefully into an area with 3-4 meters of water but with the designation "uncovered area". I have often done this where it has gone well, but this time I went aground. I ended up on a large flat rock and had 3-4 meter of water all around. The speed was below 1 knot, but I was still so stuck that I needed help. A sweet Greek helped me off the rock, and we found another great place to drop anchor.

Went to the nice restaurant and I got to try octopussy, which tasted fine.

I went late out on the boat again and then in bed. At 3 o'clock I woke up experiencing that it had become really windy and that a boat was sending both sound and light signals to me. The anchor had given up and I drifted towards some other boats. I was not alone in that. We were 2-3 other boats who were also looking for a new place in the dark. The wind had meanwhile disappeared - the whole thing had lasted 10 minutes I think - but on the other hand it blew maybe 20-30 m/ s. Well -but got the anchor fine again but did not sleep so well. I therefore was well groggy when I got up at 8 am and learned that I had no coffee and bread. 😟That was the worst that could happen. The other things were annoying .... but this was devastating. My day was about to be smashed before it had started. I love my morning coffee in the cockpit.

I had to take the dinghy and sail into a cafe. It was also ok, but certainly not optimal.

Now I've got provisions etc and tonight I'll have a steak . The day has otherwise gone with a beach trip with some German friends down here.

The weather forcast for tonight is good - as last night - and i hope i will have good sleep.
