The day was a transport day. There is a fairly long stretch of beaches without harbors. When sailing you do not like long distances without ports. If the weather gets bad or you have problems with gear it is not nice. It was one of 3 stretches of that kind the next one to 2 weeks. The weather gradually became more cloudy and the last 2 hours there was a massive thunderstorm over the Strait of Messina which is now about 100 km from here. Half an hour after arriving at this port, the thunderstorm was just over. The place and the city are wonderful and I will stay here for a few more days. I saw many dolphins today. 2 kinds - a large and small type. No one so close that pictures were good. I have to prepare myself and the boat for the Strait of Messina, which is known to be challenging due to very strong currents, whirlpools, heavy traffic, tides and not least sea monsters. The Strait of Messina is respected by everyone and you have to be very prepared. To be completely honest, I'm a little worried. I want to go a little closer - one more day - find the optimal time to go through and of course good weather. The weather looks a bit challenging in the coming days.
